October 28, 2009
Dear Rutgers Students:
It is nearly time to make your voice heard. New Jersey is one of only two states holding an election for governor in 2009, and the General Assembly’s 80 seats are also up for election. In addition, this is the first year New Jersey voters will select a lieutenant governor. I urge you to go to the polls and vote for the candidates of your choice on Tuesday, November 3.
If you are registered to vote in New Jersey, you may participate in this year's election. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. I encourage you to visit http://ruvoting.rutgers.edu for everything you need to know on Election Day, including where to vote, what to bring to the polls, and how the voting process works.
Your vote is one of the most effective methods for exercising your political will. Please remember to exercise this power by voting on Election Day.
