Members of the Rutgers Community:
Congratulations to the Scarlet Knights football team on a thrilling win last night! Our come-from-behind victory over highly ranked Louisville—a triumph of teamwork and dedication on the part of our players and their coaches—is a moment for the entire university to celebrate. As a national spotlight shone on our campus, our Rutgers players carried themselves and represented their university with poise and determination. And our students, alumni, faculty, and staff, along with fans all over the state, demonstrated tremendous spirit in support of the team. I thank you all for your pride and enthusiasm.
Let me also thank those whose professionalism contributed to a safe, well-organized, and thoroughly enjoyable experience. They include our Public Safety Division and its police, emergency operations, transportation, and student services personnel, as well as staff from Student Life, Residence Life, Student Centers, Dining Services, Campus Information Services, Media Relations, Rutgers Environmental Health & Safety, Fraternity and Sorority Affairs, the Rutgers Foundation, and of course the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. We also owe much gratitude to the many people from outside Rutgers, especially the police, fire, and emergency personnel from local, county, state, and federal agencies who were on hand to assist us. All of these efforts, and a superb game from our student-athletes, made it a magical night for Rutgers and for New Jersey.
Go, RU!
Sincerely yours,
Richard L. McCormick
