Participate in Rutgers Day 2010

October 22, 2009

Members of the Rutgers Community:

Rutgers Day 2009 was one of the past year’s most impressive successes as more than 50,000 people took the opportunity to experience their state university for themselves. Participants explored more than 400 programs—from tours and exhibits to hands-on activities and performances—and came away with an enriched understanding of the good work we do.

The coming year’s Rutgers Day will be even bigger and better. Mark your calendars now for Saturday, April 24, 2010.

I urge every department, unit, and student organization to plan an exciting and creative program that showcases the range and depth of Rutgers’ teaching, research, and public service. The initial program submission period is November 2–13, with a second submission period from January 25 to February 5. Detailed information, along with a schedule of program-planning workshops and information about prizes for early entries, is available on the Rutgers Day website: http://rutgersday.rutgers.edu/.

Rutgers Day is one of the most effective ways to strengthen our bonds with the people of New Jersey. It builds pride in Rutgers and generates increased visibility for our programs. Please join me and other members of the Rutgers community in rolling out the scarlet carpet for a truly extraordinary Rutgers Day 2010.
