Middle States Draft Self-Study Report

October 11, 2007

Members of the Rutgers Community:

Rutgers University, which is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, will be participating in its decennial reaccreditation review during the 2007-08 academic year. A significant part of the reaccreditation involves the submission of an institutional Self-Study Report, a document that has been developed through the efforts of more than 160 members of the self-study working groups representing students, faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the Boards of Governors and Trustees. A preliminary draft of the self-study is now available for your review at http://middlestates.rutgers.edu/index.shtml. To help guide you in reading the document, you may wish to look at the Self-Study Preliminary Executive Summary, available at the same website.

In the coming weeks, the university will hold a series of community forums in Camden, Newark, and New Brunswick to provide you with an opportunity to comment and make suggestions on the preliminary draft. See below for the dates and locations of these forums. You may also submit your comments about the self-study to the Middle States Steering Committee by email at execdean@oldqueens.rutgers.edu.

I applaud the hard work of all those who have already been involved in the Middle States process, and I encourage participation from every part of the university community.
