Howard Tuckman Steps Down as Dean of Rutgers Business School

June 23, 2005

Members of the Rutgers Faculty and Staff:

We write to inform you that Howard Tuckman, who has capably served as Dean of Rutgers Business School–Newark and New Brunswick since January 1999, has decided to step down and return to the faculty at the end of the coming academic year, in June 2006, to devote himself to teaching and research. A search for his successor as dean will begin in the fall semester.

We are deeply grateful to Dean Tuckman for the energetic leadership he has provided. During his tenure, RBS developed several new and highly innovative programs, including MBA concentrations in pharmaceutical and supply-chain management, the masters program in quantitative finance, and expanded executive education programs here and in Asia. Dean Tuckman has also built strong ties between RBS and the business community of New Jersey, enhanced business and private financial support of the school, and reached out vigorously to the school's many alumni. Thanks to his efforts, the visibility and stature of the school have grown in New Jersey, the nation, and abroad.

Please join us in congratulating Dean Tuckman on his impressive accomplishments and in wishing him well as he completes his service as dean.
