Members of the Rutgers Community:
As a remarkable semester at Rutgers ends, I want to wish everyone in the Rutgers community a joyful and rewarding winter break and a prosperous New Year.
For those of you finishing your studies at Rutgers this semester, including our visiting students and faculty from Katrina-affected universities, I offer special good wishes for success in all your future endeavors. Kudos and thanks to our devoted faculty, many of whom brought national and international attention to Rutgers through their groundbreaking research and discoveries. My thanks also to all those who contributed to the events inspired by the Dalai Lama's memorable visit or who added their voices to the discussion of undergraduate education on all our campuses. That conversation will, of course, continue next semester. And congratulations to our bowl-bound football team and to all our Rutgers students who have distinguished themselves in academics, athletics, the arts, student government, and other cocurricular pursuits.
You have my best wishes for the holiday season.
