Camden Chancellor Search Update

October 8, 2008

Members of the Rutgers–Camden Campus Community:

As we continue our search for a highly qualified candidate to assume the permanent role of chancellor on our Camden Campus, I am pleased to report that the internationally recognized executive search firm of Korn/Ferry has been selected to help the Camden Chancellor Search Committee in this important search. Korn/Ferry, which has a proven record of success in completing high-level searches, was chosen after a thoughtful and competitive process.

The search committee, which I reconvened in June 2008, has embarked upon an aggressive plan to identify and interview candidates between now and early 2009, with campus visits occurring during late winter 2009. I would like to thank Newark Chancellor Steve Diner for agreeing to serve as committee chair and School of Law–Camden Professor Allan Stein for assuming the role of vice chair, along with the entire membership of the committee.

Additional details about the Camden chancellor search are online at http://www.president.rutgers.edu/search_camden.shtml, and the search committee will provide updates as they arise. Finally, let me express my continued gratitude to Margaret Marsh for leading Rutgers–Camden so ably as interim chancellor for another year.
