Appointment of Vice President for Enrollment Management

August 31, 2006

Members of the Rutgers Community:

Please join me in welcoming Courtney McAnuff, a national expert on college admissions, retention, and financial aid, as he begins his tenure at Rutgers as our new Vice President for Enrollment Management, starting September 1, 2006.

Mr. McAnuff joins us after a 26-year career at Eastern Michigan University, where he has served as vice president for enrollment services for the past ten years.  Here at Rutgers, he will administer undergraduate admissions, financial aid, and the university registrar.  He will be working closely
with provosts and administrators at Camden and Newark, as well as the Office of the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs in New Brunswick, to enhance recruitment, enrollment, and retention of a diverse and competitive student body.

Courtney McAnuff's exemplary credentials position him to be a strong and effective administrator in areas critical to the mission and success of Rutgers. In addition to his considerable experience at Eastern Michigan, and earlier at the State University of New York–Farmingdale, Mr. McAnuff has
consulted professionally for 15 universities across the country as well as the U.S. Department of Education.  He has chaired the College Board's National Hispanic Scholarship selection committee, serves on the advisory board of the student loan provider Sallie Mae, and has been honored for his administrative excellence.  He holds a bachelor's degree from City College
of New York, a master's degree from Hofstra University, and is working on a doctorate at Wayne State University.

With thanks to the search committee for its work in identifying an outstanding individual to lead our university's undergraduate enrollment effort, I am proud to have Courtney McAnuff join the Rutgers community.
