Appointment of Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration

February 20, 2008

Members of the Rutgers Community:

It is my pleasure to announce that today the Rutgers Board of Governors approved my nomination of Bruce C. Fehn as Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration, effective immediately. Bruce has served with distinction in this capacity in an interim role since May 2007 and, after a national search, emerged as the top candidate to fill the position on a permanent basis.

Bruce Fehn has worked at Rutgers since 1986, serving 15 years as university controller and more recently as associate vice president for finance and associate treasurer. He has demonstrated excellence in carrying out a broad range of responsibilities, including budget management, debt management, financial accounting and reporting, auditing, research administration, capital planning and finance, procurement, student financial services, policy development, and business process improvement. Among his many accomplishments at Rutgers, Bruce took a lead role in implementing the first phase of the Rutgers Integrated Administrative System (RIAS)—a system that we will expand during his service as senior vice president.

Please join me in congratulating Bruce on a well-deserved appointment. I know he will continue to provide Rutgers with outstanding financial and administrative leadership.
