Dear Rutgers Students:
One of the greatest powers you possess is the power to influence the makeup of government by voting. You will have that chance on Tuesday, November 8, when every seat in the New Jersey state legislature is up for election. In many ways, it is state and local governments that most greatly affect the issues you care about, so I encourage you to exercise your power and vote next Tuesday.
If you are registered to vote in New Jersey, you may participate in this year's election. Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Please visit ruvoting.rutgers.edu for everything you need to know on Election Day, including a list of campus polling locations, how to determine your correct polling location, and what to bring to the polls.
By participating in the election, you determine not only the composition of government but also your future. I hope you will take the time to vote on November 8.
